IAEA: The IAEA has been informed of a serious incident that occurred during today’s de-mining phase of the agreed localized ceasefire near the Zaporizhzhya NPP, in which some Russian military personnel were injured. While the incident is currently being investigated, the Ukrainian side has informed the IAEA that it remains committed to the IAEA-brokered ceasefire that it and Russia agreed to after weeks of complex negotiations. IAEA DG @rafaelmgrossi calls for maximum military restraint and full adherence to the ceasefire so that the power line repairs can proceed as planned in coming days, adding that they are crucial for efforts to prevent a nuclear accident at the ZNPP. The urgency and necessity of repairing the ZNPP’s main 750 kilovolt (kV) power line was underscored by another loss of off-site power event at the plant today, the 18th since the war started. The ZNPP once again had to rely on emergency diesel generators after its sole remaining power line - the 330 kV Ferosplavna - was disconnected due to reported attacks on two electrical substations located on the other side of the Dnipro River.

IAEA: The IAEA has been informed by the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) that the nearby Zaporizhzhya Thermal Power Plant (ZTPP) - whose switchyard helps deliver electricity to the ZNPP - has been under heavy attack this morning. The IAEA team at the ZNPP saw light smoke coming from the direction of the ZTPP and heard the sound of military activity.
The occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant was temporarily left without external power supply overnight for the 17th time during Russia's war against Ukraine, the IAEA said. The agency said the outage was caused by a drone hitting the Nikopol substation, located on the opposite bank of the Dnieper River from the plant. This temporarily shut down the only remaining power line at the facility for about 20 minutes.

Macron: The French Navy intercepted a new tanker under international sanctions yesterday morning, originating from Russia: the Tagor. Our determination is steadfast and unwavering. This operation was carried out in the Atlantic, in international waters, with the support of several partners including the United Kingdom, in strict compliance with the law of the sea. It is unacceptable for ships to circumvent international sanctions, violate the law of the sea, and fund the war that Russia has been waging against Ukraine for more than 4 years. These vessels, which fail to adhere to the most basic rules of maritime navigation, also pose a threat to the environment and to everyone's safety.
